PRACTICE STAFF

Practice Manager

June Smith, our practice manager, oversees the day-to-day administration and smooth running of the practice.

Admin Staff

Our receptionists, Ruth, Jean, Rae & Susan are specially trained to help you gain access to different members of the practice team and to deal with your enquires and requests as efficiently as possible whilst respecting your confidentiality.

Practice Nurse

Patricia Beattie BSc RGN SEN Nurse Prescriber, our practice nurse, is available for health education (smoking, diet, exercise), health check-up and vaccinations. She is also available for holiday vaccinations, blood pressure screening, weight control, height and urine testing, cervical smears and chronic disease management (asthma, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure).

Health Care Assistant

The main role of our health care assistant, Linda McDonald, is to help with the blood samples and also to assist the medical team with the various disease management clinics provided by the practice.

ATTACHED STAFF

GP Locums

The practice engages the services of a fully qualified locum GP as required, for example, to cover holidays.

District Nurses

These nurses provide skilled nursing care for patients in their own home. They do dressings, bathing of the disabled at home, advise about incontinence and nursing appliances as well as managing all aspects of short and long-term nursing care of patients at home. They provide support and advice for 'carers' of patients at home.

The district nurses can be contacted on 554231 between 9.00 - 10.00am and 1.30 - 4.45pm.

Health Visitors

Health visitors can also be contacted on 554231 between 9.00 - 10.00am and 3.30 - 4.45pm.

They promote the good health of our patients of all age groups both at home and in the surgery and assess the needs of the elderly, disadvantaged and disabled and can mobilise, help and support accordingly. Actively involved in prevention of disease and maintenance of good health in mothers, babies and pre-school children at the weekly immunisations and child development clinics in the practice, they are available for help and advice on all aspects of health care for mothers, babies and pre-school children.

The health visitors also run a well baby clinic in the Health Centre every Wednesday 2.00 - 3.30pm - NO APPOINTMENT REQUIRED.
